Palaeoclimatic record of lacustrine sediment in Viet Nam: for reducing the natural disaster damage
A03 Paleoenvironment
Research Period: 2013~2016
Director: Hiroyuki Kitagawa・Dang Phong Xuan
Institution: Nagoya University, Institute of Geography, VAST
Region: Viet Nam
Summary:
A multi-proxy approach (carbon 14 dating, geochemical analysis, spectroscopic analysis, and observation of sedimentary facies) were applied on the sediment cores from volcanic lake on the central Vietnam Highlands to assess the occurrence of periodic climate (torrential rain or typhoon) events in the Southeast Asia over the past 13,000 years.
